KALIBO, Aklan – Gov. Carlito Marquez signed a P500-million stimulus package for the province to pump prime the economy.
Marquez said the provincial government signed a memorandum of agreement with Pasig City-based AYN Resource Group headed by Andres Y. Narvasa.
Narvasa, in a press conference, said his company, as a financial advisory and consultancy group, will spearhead the feasibility study for the provincial government’s 2.6-hectare reclamation project in Brgy. Caticlan, Malay, Aklan where the Caticlan Jetty Port is located.
“After the conduct of the feasibility study, which is projected to last 45 days, we will then raise the P500-million fund for the reclamation project through bond flotation,” Narvasa explained.
Marquez said the Department of Foreign Affairs has accredited the province for being successful in the practice of bond flotation.
“The provincial government plans to put up a wellness center, resort and a spa as their contribution to the medical tourism at the reclamation project including an ocean adventure park and a cable car facility for tourists visiting Boracay,” Narvasa revealed.
The provincial government believes that the realization of the “ambitious” project would translate to more livelihood opportunities for Aklanons.
