KALIBO, Aklan – The Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Memorial Foundation (AGMRMF) will introduce a different concept and experience on the province’s history during the commemoration of the 19th martyrs, Aklan’s local revolutionary heroes during the Spanish occupation, on March 23.

The AGMRMF is a non-government organization tasked by the Kalibo local government to spearhead activities for the commemoration of the 19th martyrs.

Sumra Dela Cruz Rojo of the AGMRMF said they will present a history trail for children so they could feel and understand the martyrdom of the 19th martyrs.

“This will be the first time that we are introducing the history trail at the Pastrana Park. We are hoping the children will appreciate and inculcate in them the spirit of patriotism and love of country,” Rojo said.

Aside from the history trail, other activities include a commemoration program at the 19th martyrs’ monument and several contests such as the on-the-spot painting contest.
