KALIBO, Aklan – The president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) of Lezo, Aklan is in serious condition after he was stabbed by his former bodyguard in Brgy. Carugdog there on Saturday night.
PO1 Ruel Relator said ABC Pres. Osias Prado was onboard his motorcycle travelling towards Makato, Aklan when he was attacked by 38-year-old Carlie Reyes.
Reyes stabbed Prado several times before grabbing the .45 caliber revolver of the victim and fled towards Makato.
The suspect, however, decided to surrender to another village chief there and turned over the handgun he took from Prado.
Investigation revealed that old grudges drove Reyes to stab his former employer.
Prado is now confined at the St. Gabriel Medical Center here while Reyes is detained at the Lezo Police Station’s lock-up cell pending the filing of charges.
