KALIBO, Aklan – Members of the paramilitary group Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) running for elective posts in the upcoming May 10 elections should resign, said a Philippine Army official here.
Lt. Col. Henry Dar, commander of the 12th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army based in Libas, Banga, Aklan, said CAFGUs seeking government posts should submit their resignation letter.
He disclosed that members of the paramilitary group in the region who filed their certificates of candidacy were terminated from service.
“If they fail to win, they can no longer return to military service. Those who are interested to join the service will have to undergo retraining,” Dar stressed.
