CATICLAN, Malay – Inadequate water supply greatly affects the day-to-day operation of the Caticlan Jetty Port, said Administrator Nevin Maquirang.
He said the system of the Malay Water District needs to be improved.
With various infrastructure projects being constructed at the port vicinity, Maquirang said they need a large supply of water.
The Philippine Coast Guard and Marina also use the same line that supports the water needs of the port.
“The water system needs big improvement to capacitate the water lines to deliver bigger volume of water because at present, it has water interruptions which bring inconvenience to the visitors who are using the port’s facilities such as the comfort rooms,” Maquirang stressed.
He said they have already informed the management of the Malay Water District about the problem but no action has been done yet.
The Caticlan Jetty Port serves as a jump-off point of tourists and vehicles going to Boracay Island. It is also home to various offices such as the Philippine Ports Authority and private businesses.
