BORACAY Island, Malay, Aklan- The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Boracay (PCCI) is eyeing to hold a survival training for its members in order to equip them during disaster, according to its president Charles Uy.
“I have seen how the devastation of global warming such as strong typhoons hit several provinces in Luzon area. We deemed it as a need therefore for our officers and members to be engaged in personal survival training,” said Uy.
Members of the PCCI are composed of mostly resort and hotel owners in this resort island. Some of them are foreigners.
According to Uy, it is important for its members and employees to learn personal survival on disaster as experts said that this resort island is prone to the effects of climate change.
The PCCI plans to tap their government partners in providing the training.
